Find answers to common questions about our competitive volleyball programs, coaching opportunities, and club expectations.
The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is the governing body for competitive youth volleyball in Ontario. It organizes leagues, tournaments, and championships that clubs like TIVC compete in throughout the season. The OVA helps ensure consistent rules, safe play, and a structured competitive pathway for athletes across the province.
We are always interested in connecting with passionate coaches. If you’d like to coach with TIVC, please contact us to learn more about current and future opportunities.
Players should expect a committed schedule that includes 2–3 practices per week, along with additional team activities such as conditioning, tournaments, and team-building events.
We strongly recommend that athletes focus on one competitive sport per season. Balancing two high-level sports is extremely challenging and can impact performance, development, and overall experience.
Our training locations vary each year depending on gym availability but are always based within the Thousand Islands region.
Tryouts are held in the September ahead of the competitive season. Exact dates are posted on our website and social media channels.
Teams are formed through open tryouts, where athletes are evaluated on skill, athletic ability, coachability, and team fit.

No, beyond our camps and clinics, we are a competitive-only volleyball club and do not currently offer a house league program.
Costs vary each season depending on program needs and are designed to cover all aspects of the club experience. This includes gym rental fees, tournament registration, insurance, coach training and accommodations, uniforms, and team swag packs. A full budget is established annually and is outlined in the Letter of Offer provided to athletes selected for a team.
We currently offer programs for girls aged 12–18, competing across multiple age divisions. We are always looking to expand our program, but this depends on athlete interest and, most importantly, available coaches. If you are interested in coaching, please reach out to us.
